Job Overview & Responsibilities

  

As a Facility Operation Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing construction management and coordination. You will be the primary point of contact for construction contractors making modifications at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) for United Launch Alliance. Your role will involve comprehensive coordination and communication with the contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Scheduling & Coordination:
    • Act as the primary scheduling liaison for the Engineering and Infrastructure group, coordinating construction activities with the Operations Systems Engineering (OSE).
    • Plan and schedule activities in Planisware and provide status updates in daily meetings.
  • Estimating Support:
    • Provide estimating support for a broad range of construction projects.
  • Construction Management:
    • Coordinate and manage all construction activities with contractors, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
    • Conduct regular site inspections and meetings to monitor progress, quality, and compliance, resolving any issues that may arise.
    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation including schedules, daily reports, change orders, and as-built drawings.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between contractors, engineers, stakeholders, and other relevant parties.

 

Required Education

High School/GED

 

Required Years of Experience

Minimum of 6 years of related work experience

 

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in applicable fields.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Thorough understanding of construction management processes, means, and methods.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with project management and estimating.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Planisware.
  • Previous experience with space launch facilities or similar high-security environment construction projects.
