Job Overview & Responsibilities

  

The Inventory Control Specialist maintains and promotes accuracy of retail store inventory by working and reviewing various inventory reports, conducting on demand inventory audits and communicating results with store management. This multi-function role partners with the sales floor, receiving teams and retail leadership in order to maintain inventory accuracy, promote replenishment and sales while mitigating merchandise loss and shrink for the organization. This position provides customer service support throughout the store. They perform various selling/customer service activities, to include greeting and acknowledging all customers in a prompt and friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, providing information, assistance and direction to customers.

  • The successful candidate has working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system and utilizes data driven decision making to enable effective material forecasting and inventory functions.
  • The role requires daily successful interaction with cross-functional teams to meet organizational goals and objectives. These groups include: procurement, Engineering, Product Operations, Quality, Test and Design, Maintenance, Warehouse, Transportation and Management across multiple sites.
  • The individual in this role will need to align with Operation’s execution plans to meet critical deadlines with Supply Chain strategies and financial targets.
  • The individual will foster a working environment that promotes safety as top priority, compliance and quality while achieving overall customer requirements. 
  • The successful candidate will participate in continuous improvement projects at department and enterprise level.
  • This position focuses heavily in Ordnance processing, Shipping and Receiving with ability to obtain Hazmat Certification and IATA certification.
  • The individual in this position will also support Warehouse Inventory Operations such as: Inventory cycle counts, training, and systematic issues within our internal systems.
  • Investigates and reconciles all inventory variance reports including but not limited to negative on hand review, aged in transit, purchase order discrepancies, etc.
  • Communicates opportunities / issues / discrepancies with Leadership for review and resolution.

Additionally, the successful candidate should anticipate the below responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule and monitor the efficient movement of material from identification of the requirement to delivery to the end user.
  • Actioning last minute shipments and receipts of Ordnance requirements.
  • Analyze demand per inventory requirements.
  • Ensure plan orders are converted to purchase requisitions on schedule.
  • Validating and understanding planned orders to production orders or purchase requisitions. 
  • Comply with customer time sensitive requests.
  • Monitor and understand differences between flight and ground hardware.
  • Plans and/or controls inventory of finished goods for warehouses, distribution centers, and factory mixing points to meet sales and distribution demand.
  • Analyzes inventory levels, inventory positioning, and planned production and sales forecasts.
  • Develops and maintains inputs to inventory system.
  • Coordinates with traffic, production planning, and warehouse personnel to ensure appropriate routing, scheduling, and storing of goods.

 

Required Education

High School/GED

 

Required Years of Experience

Minimum of 2 years of related work experience

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have a working knowledge of SAP or related systems within a warehouse and inventory management environment.
  • Must have a working knowledge of shipping and receiving functions.
  • Experience working with SharePoint and other Web-based programs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of leadership.
  • Ability to obtain an ATF background check for supporting ordnance programs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain base access.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP experience preferred
  • Experience in Material and Inventory Control.
  • Experience utilizing lean manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Flexible and solution-oriented requiring minimal supervision in a fast paced environment, works well with teammates and customers.
