Job Overview & Responsibilities

  

As a Production Operations Leader on 2nd Shift, responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and manage various hourly groups in Launch Operations.
  • Provide staffing, manage disciplinary and/or corrective action, training, weekly monitoring of cost/schedule performance, motivating the workforce, identifying and clearing constraints to production.
  • Direct hourly employees recognized by the IAM Union in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, and salaried support staff.
  • Ensure safety, quality, cost, and schedule of production hardware.
  • Build a capable workforce into high performance work teams utilizing perfect product delivery concepts.
  • Must be willing to work different shifts as required and will require overtime as needed.
  • Will require travel to other ULA locations.

 

Required Education

Bachelor

 

Required Years of Experience

Minimum of 6 years of related work experience

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. 
    • 4 years of additional related work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Project management or team lead experience. 
  • Knowledge of launch or manufacturing processing practices, lean enterprise, and/or continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to work extended hours and other shifts, specifically 3rd shift. This position will require working extended hours and availability to work 2nd or 3rd shift.
  • Ability to travel to various locations to support launch processing.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is required. US citizenship is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in launch processing or manufacturing management using electronic work orders and nonconformance systems.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Experience.
  • Experience in integration of work groups and teams.
  • Experience with leading an hourly union or touch labor workforce.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing software tools, e.g. SAP or other ERP software, Velocity, OJT Tracking, or manufacturing related software.
  • The capacity to function effectively in an environment that is highly dynamic, demanding, and challenging.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance is preferred.  US citizenship is required.
