Job Overview & Responsibilities
- This position is to support Launch Ops Cape and Vandenberg. Position will require occasional extended temporary duty travels (TDY's).
- Reviews product systems, associated support equipment and facilities, functional specifications and operations, and establishes safety requirements for assigned systems.
- Independently analyzes and recommends safety criteria in system design, equipment and procedures to control or eliminate hazards.
- Prepares safety documents as required to support customer and test/operational range requirements.
- Performs development, modification, application and maintenance of quality standards and protocol for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
- Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
- Adheres to implementation methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
- Performs the design or specification of inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
- May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

Bachelor
Required Years of Experience
Minimum of 4 years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field from an accredited college or university
- Ability to apply Corrective Action tools to identify root cause and corrective actions for anomaly conditions
- Exerience in the design of safe base systems and ensure workability and an understanding of failsafes
- Ability to interprit engineer drawings
- Must have a good understanding of regulatory controls
- Analytical ability to evaluate, interpret, and assimilate data into useable information and provide recommendations based upon results
- Must be able to work around hazardous systems at the launch sites, climb stairs, and access elevated work platforms
- Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve, communicate effectively, work and lead in a team setting, and strong interpersonal skills are required
- Lead multi-discipline continuous improvement teams to improve methods and procedures
- Highly proficient in computer usage and MS Office applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to obtain and mantain a DoD clearance is required. US citizenship is required
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to easily interface with peers, leaders, and customers
Preferred Qualifications
- Ideal candidate would also possess some or all of the following:
- Green Belt / Black Belt certification
- Lean and six-sigma certification
- Highly flexible in work schedule (i.e. off-shift, weekends, travel)
- Understanding and exposure to propulsion systems and ordinance installation
