Job Overview & Responsibilities

  

This is an opportunity to join the ULA Payload Accommodations team as an electrical mission integration engineer.  In this engineering position you will manage the electrical scope for integrating the Space Vehicle (SV) onto the ULA Launch Vehicle (LV). As the electrical mission integration engineer you will directly interface with the SV customer team and have oversight responsibilities for all electrical activity for assigned missions which includes:

  • Acting as the single electrical point of contact for the SV customer and internal ULA customers for assigned missions
  • Responsibility for mission execution, including technical, cost, and schedule performance
  • Integration of all customer technical, schedule, and contractual requirements to assure successful integration of the SV with the launch system
  • Presenting status and design details at customer meetings as well as program reviews
  • Coordination with payload accommodations, electrical engineering, and other ULA disciplines for mission unique design and analysis execution
  • Coordination of SV/LV integrated electrical testing and electrical operations at the launch site, including review of test procedures to ensure all mission unique electrical requirements are verified
  • Providing proposal support for mission unique scope
  • Providing day of launch support in the Denver Operations Support Center

 

This position also includes a project engineering role which may include development of new tools, conducting trade studies to optimize designs, and implementing design solutions to satisfy overall mission requirements.

Bachelor

 

Required Years of Experience

Minimum of 2 years of related work experience

 

Basic Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university. 
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems (control, power, communication, instrumentation).
  • Basic understanding of systems engineering.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks for multiple ongoing projects.
  • Aggressive about solving issues and acts with a sense of urgency.
  • Must be willing at times to work extended hours, off shifts, and weekends.
  • Must be available for periodic travel to customer facilities or other ULA sites.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project engineering skills with experience leading multi-discipline teams
  • Proficiency and experience with cost/schedule tools and processes, including earned value management
  • Experience with electrical wire harnessing, RF/EMC interface compatibility, conducting trade studies, and reviewing engineering drawings
  • Two years of relevant electrical integration experience
  • Experience working spacecraft interfaces in launch applications

Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denver only):  $80,292.00 - $125,404.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
