Job Overview & Responsibilities
The IT Vendor Management Specialist 3 at United Launch Alliance is responsible for managing complex IT vendor relationships, optimizing IT vendor performance, an ensuring aligment of third-party services with IT and business objectives. This role provides oversight across the vendor lifecycle - from selection and onboarding through performance management and contract renewal - while driving value, mitigating risk, and ensuring compliance with ULA policies and standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Align IT vendors with the strategic direction, mission, and vision of the IT Vendor Management Office (VMO).
 - Partner with IT leaders to align IT vendor strategies with organizational goals and technology roadmaps.
 - Identify opportunities for IT vendor consolidation, cost optimization, and performance improvement.
 - Manage contractual and operational working relationships with IT vendors to ensure effective usage of committed resources, services, and solutions and to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
 - Act as a primary point of contact between IT, Supply Chain, and external IT vendors.
 - Track key engagement milestones (expirations, renewals), measure and report on IT vendor performance and manage the delivery of performance feedback to IT vendors.
 - Conduct regular business reviews with IT vendors to assess service quality, performance, and alignment with business needs.
 - Escalate and resolve performance issues and disputes in collaboration with stakeholders.
 - Evaluate IT vendor risk and ensure compliance with cybersecurity and regulatory requirements.
 - Maintain accurate documentation of IT vendor assessments, contracts, and performance reports.
 - Support internal and external audits related to IT vendor management and third-party risk.
 - Coordinate meetings and collaborate with internal stakeholders — including IT, Supply Chain, Finance, GTC, Legal, and business resources.
 - Participate in efforts for IT VMO process improvement and optimization.
 
Required Education
Bachelor
Required Years of Experience
Minimum of 4 years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
 - 8 years of directly related experience and relevant professional certifications may be used to satisfy the bachelor’s degree requirement.
 - Previous exposure to managing IT vendor contracts including, but not limited to:
 - Policies
 - Performance
 - Relationships
 - Issue and dispute resolution
 - General knowledge of contract management and negotiation.
 - Previous experience with vendor lifecycle (sourcing, procurement, vendor management), and how internal roles interact and operate throughout the duration of vendor engagements.
 - Solid grasp of financial concepts, such as depreciation schedules, capitalization, return on investment, and total cost of ownership.
 - Thorough understanding of commercial terms (warranties, intellectual property, indemnification) in IT agreements.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IT standards such as ITIL.
 - Familiarity with relevant regulatory and industry requirements (ITAR, FAR-12).
 
Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denver only): $91,213.00 - $152,022.00
Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.

Additionally, most salaried ULA team members work a "9/80 schedule," meaning they enjoy every other Friday off.
