Job Overview & Responsibilities
ULA is looking for a Structural Engineer Leader to join the Recurring Booster IPT team in Denver, CO. Assignments to include the following:
- Lead a team of strength analysts for Vulcan & Atlas launch vehicles such that systems and component designs satisfy overall launch vehicle requirements
- Assign strength tasks based on employee strengths and/or development plans
- Ensure balanced workload among team members
- Provide direct support to design teams, suppliers, factory and launch site to ensure production & launch schedules are met, resolve anomalies and streamline operations to improve efficiency
- Conduct performance reviews and work with employees on their development plan including training
- Coach and maintain engineering skills matrix and develop talent where required
- Recognize and reward teammates
- Do whatever it takes to make the team successful
Required Education
Bachelor
Required Years of Experience
Minimum of 8 years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications
- 8 years applicable experience in the associated technical or administrative area.
- 2 years managing people, project management or team lead experience or a combination of the three.
- Knowledge of engineering development, qualification, production, and strength processes.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge/experience performing stress analyses.
- Programmatic skills.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous leader or lead role responsibilities
- Knowledge of engineering & stress analyses tools such as Teamcenter, FEMAP, Abaqus, Nasgro and Nastran
- Familiarity and background with development and recurring launch system processes.
Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denver, ULA - Decatur only): $132,775.00 - $246,868.00
Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
