Job Overview & Responsibilities

  

United Launch Alliance (ULA) seeks a skilled Subcontract Management Specialist to support the Enterprise Procurement team at ULA Corporate Headquarters in Centennial, CO. Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate purchasing activities including purchase order and purchase card requisitions for acquisition of test hardware, flight hardware, and services for the Pueblo facility. A focus on integrated Supply Chain strategy and strategic sourcing analysis skills will be required.  
  • Oversee critical subcontracted systems and services or may integrate the efforts of a number of subcontractors at a project or program level.
  • Direct and manage all cost, schedule and technical performance requirements levied on the subcontractor or the product family, ensuring performance in compliance with all technical requirements and contract milestones.  
  • Assist in development of subcontract specifications, work statements and other technical requirements documents.  
  • Serve as a focal point for the subcontractor.  As required, this individual: briefs ULA executive management and customer regarding subcontract status and issues affecting subcontract performance or cost; and conducts and/or supports program reviews with the subcontractor and ULA / Customer program offices.  
  • Responsible for and directs all phases of the subcontract from initiation of the business case for make / buy decisions through requests for proposals, subcontract management plans, negotiation strategy, and cost accountability; makes decisions affecting the performance of the subcontractor; establishes milestone objectives and manages performance to committed schedules and contractual specifications; and, assists in development of major / complex subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized components and services.
  • Work collaboratively within the team to develop and clearly communicate requirements and execution expectations to suppliers, optimizing value for ULA.

 

Required Education

Bachelor

 

Required Years of Experience

Minimum of 4 years of related work experience

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Microsoft Excel experience with an understanding of advanced functions and pivot tables
  • Background in Supply Chain processes such as planning, purchasing, inventory and/or warehouse operations
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning System(s) (SAP preferred)
  • Experience following standard business procedures, and general business knowledge/acumen
  • Demonstrated capability in developing and applying basic professional analytical techniques to develop solutions for problems

• Experience with both purchasing and material planning

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment with multi-functional teams

• Proactive, independent worker with the demonstrated capacity to work in dynamic team environment

• Impeccable attention to detail, passion for driving change and ability to look at big picture

• Strong project management skills

• Extremely organized with strong time-management skills

Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denver only):  $93,655.00 - $146,336.00

Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
