Job Overview & Responsibilities
United Launch Alliance (ULA) seeks a skilled Subcontract Management Specialist to support the Enterprise Procurement Supply Chain team at ULA Corporate Headquarters in Centennial, CO. Responsibilities include:
- Oversees critical indirect procurements, frequently integrating the efforts of a number of subcontractors at a project or program level.
- Facilitate purchasing activities supporting indirect procurement strategies and can include contract types involving transportation, information technology, capital equipment to support the production system or enterprise initiatives.
- Directs and manages all cost, schedule and technical performance requirements levied on the subcontractor or the product family, ensuring performance in compliance with all technical requirements and contract milestones.
- Assists in development of subcontract specifications, work statements and other technical requirements documents.
- Serves as a focal point for the subcontractor.
- Briefs ULA executive management and customers regarding subcontract status and issues affecting subcontract performance or cost; and, conducts and/or supports program reviews with the subcontractor and ULA / Customer program offices.
- Directs all phases of the subcontract from initiation of the business case for make / buy decisions through requests for proposals, subcontract management plans, negotiation strategy, and cost accountability; makes decisions affecting the performance of the subcontractor; establishes milestone objectives and manages performance to committed schedules and contractual specifications; and, assists in development of major / complex subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized components and services.
- Demonstrates and fully utilizes well-developed project management skills.
- Partners with cross-functional teammates to develop procurement requirements, aligned with the ULA business imperatives, for flow-down to suppliers and potential suppliers.

Bachelor
Required Years of Experience
Minimum of 8 years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Microsoft Excel experience with an understanding of advanced functions and pivot tables.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (SAP preferred).
- Experience with Supply Chain, Procurement and/or Business Experience with purchasing policies and procedures.
- Experience with complex, high dollar procurements.
- Experience with reporting program status out to management and executive leadership and managing priorities across multiple internal and external business partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain from an accredited college or university.
- Experience developing and implementing acquisition agreement strategies for complex subcontracts.
- Excellent analytical, numerical and financial management skills.
- Strong project management skills.
Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denver only): $139,911.00 - $218,540.00
Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
