Job Overview & Responsibilities


This position is for a mid-level MBE Systems Architect Engineer with responsibilities to include the following:

  • Developing, testing and deploying capability in all tools in a domain (design, manufacturing, analysis, etc.)
  • Evolving current processes to rely on automated design checks and error resolution
  • Connecting digital design data to CNC machines, 3D Printers, ERP/MRP and MES applications
  • Project management and execution of existing and future projects
  • Support and improve deployed Visual Work Instructions capability at Production and Launch sites
  • Look forward, launch new functionality, future tools and systems and implement industry best practices
  • Mechanical CAD tool consolidation efforts
  • Work with the Lead Systems Architect for maintaining and improving deployed tools
  • Work with a team of peers - MBE process owner, MBE skills owner and MBE Architect to divide areas of responsibility and authority
  • Influence and contribute to the MBE Team’s goal of connecting digital design data across ULA’s enterprise (design, build, launch) and move the company toward Industry 4.0
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with current CAD design and applications


Required Education



Required Years of Experience

Minimum of 4 years of related work experience


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with CAD
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools (Teamcenter, Windchill, etc.)
  • Ability to identify problems and work resolutions.
  • Project management experience.
  • Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written; including presentations).
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated initiative, teamwork, and leadership skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in Aerospace and Defense
  • Experience with new hardware product development
  • Experience with Siemens PLM (Teamcenter)
  • Experience with NX CAD
  • Experience authoring or using 3D Model Based Definition
  • Experience in a manufacturing/operations environment

Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denver only):  $98,339.00 - $153,653.00

Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
