Job Overview & Responsibilities

  

As a Quality Engineer 4, you will serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related issues during operations for quality related issues in the inventory management flow, following initial training and certification. You will support production operations, ensure compliance with quality standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a high-performance aerospace manufacturing environment.

  • Performs development, modification, application and maintenance of quality standards and protocol for processing materials into partially finished or finished material products
  • Collaborates with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place and contractual requirements are properly flowed down to suppliers
  • Responsible for the implementation of methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment throughout the procurement process
  • Audits processes, reviews build documentation, and performs physical walk downs of hardware to verify conformance/compliance
  • Responsible for the control and disposition of nonconforming products, Material Review Board, causal analysis & corrective action, corrective action effectiveness / reliability and documentation, design for manufacturability and inspection planning
  • Collaborates on the design or specification of inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; supports quality assurance tests; and performs analysis to assess the cost of and determination of responsibility, for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications
  • Establishes, expands, and effectively communicates quality data collection and analysis to empower risk management, continuous improvement, and integrated project teams throughout the enterprise
  • May specialize in the areas of supply chain management, design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, AS9100 auditing, customer engagement, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality

 

Required Education

Bachelor

 

Required Years of Experience

Minimum of 6 years of related work experience

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 6 years of industry experience in Quality Engineering as it relates to Supply Chain Management, Production, or equivalent
  • Provide administration, education, and coaching on the Material Review Board (MRB) Process and use of the non-conformance Quality System
  • Experience working with drawings and engineering specifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Must meet minimum vision requirements and demonstrate the ability to hear pure tone thresholds as specified by the relevant contractual agreement, regulation and/or company occupational health guide
  • No physical limitations (e.g. requires material handling, lifting, moving, bending, etc.)

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with Material Review Board (MRB) certification process
  • Experience with the administration, processing and oversight of Suspect Product Evaluations involving research, identification, documentation, segregation and containment/control of non-conforming material at multiple physical locations
  • Experience working independently with little to no supervision and in a team environment
  • Experience with Siemens TeamCenter
  • Broad Experience using SAP for research and Material Acceptance
  • Experience preparing and presenting program/technical conclusions to varying levels of leadership and customer forums
  • 6-8 years of administration, education, and coaching on the MRB Process and use of the non-conformance Quality System
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding or experience with one or more of the following:
    • Root Cause Analysis
    • Corrective Action-Preventive Action Disciplines
    • Cause and Effect Analysis experience
    • Formal Auditor Training in ISO9000/AS9100
    • Project Management Skills
    • Green Belt training/certification
    • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
    • Quality metrics development and analysis
