Job Overview & Responsibilities
At ULA, as a Technical Support Representative (CNC Machinist), you will machine high-quality, one-of-a-kind prototypes and precision production aerospace components as well as the following:
- Set-up and operation of 3 to 9 axis CNC Milling and Turning Centers for turning and milling of precision aluminum and stainless valve components, test fixtures, and high quality production flight hardware.
- Set-up tooling fixtures, identifying milling and/or turning cutting tool requirements, loading CNC programs, visual inspecting, hand gauging, de-burring, and wash operation of various manufacturing handling equipment such as overhead cranes.
- Validation of CNC program configuration while maintaining quality requirements.
- Work to specified tolerances and finishes to achieve blueprint specification of highly detailed components.
- Determine finishing requirements and prescribe in proper sequence the operations required and the methods and/or equipment necessary to accomplish the finishing of surfaces (de-burring, etc.).
- Perform periodic maintenance procedures on machinery and equipment to ensure proper fluid levels, cleanliness and travel of moving parts on all machinery.

Minimum of 4 years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Four years of directly related exempt work experience may be used to satisfy the bachelor’s degree requirement
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in machining and CNC machining and programming using off machine CAM software.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints with GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994.
- Experience with Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, Siemens, and/or other CNC controls.
- Ability to read and interpret 3D models.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, creative problem-solving, and adaptability.
- Experience in the use and operation of precision measuring devices.
- Ensure quality and conformance to engineering specifications.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Provide excellent service to internal stakeholders across the organization.
- Evaluates and requisitions purchased tooling and supplies.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs unassisted and work in varied physical positions.
- Ability to work overtime, to include extended shifts and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Skilled in tooling and fixture design.
- Forklift operation experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Machine new or modify existing high-value, tight-tolerance parts with a balance of speed and precision.
- NX CAM or ESPRIT CAM experience a plus.
- Nickle Alloy experience a plus.
- Experience with scheduling and/or estimating
- CMM Programming (VeriSurf)
Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Pueblo only): $56,235.00 - $93,725.00
